I am Clint.
If you go way back, I'm from a small town and grew up doing lots of blue-collar chores and working for my father's construction company. This is the birthplace of my design ethos and my hands-on, problem-solution approach to creative challenges. I was a big fish in a small pond though and I moved to California to attend art school. It would be a shorter, simpler story if I just grew within the industry from there, but I took a hard left turn and went back to school to get a Chemistry degree. I felt like it might better feed my new family. Maybe it was to prove that I'm smart or something. But, just as I was graduating and pondering post-graduate paths, like a magnet, I got recruited by a friend and former colleague that needed my "designer's eye" at a brand new startup. Like employee number two brand new. After some thought, I took the job, completely naive to all that the next eight years would bring.
I experienced more ups and downs than I could have ever imagined, but glad and grateful to have experienced them. I owned every visual part of that company, including the brand, the product itself (I'm named in 11 patents to date) and carried that product though to manufacturing and production and eventually watched our baby venture out into the world by producing virtually all of the marketing collateral including website, ads, photography, and video. During this time, I was more than fulltime committed to our startup, but I did squeeze in some freelance work 'cause it's hard for me to say no. I'm a designer. There's no denying it. It's a blessing and a curse, but it is my passion.
